Welcome to the website of David E. Read.

   With a Bachelor's Degree in Professional Development from Amberton University, Mr. Read has worked in the television and film business for the past 20 years.   During those early years, he worked as a Writer,  Assistant Director, Floor Director, Location Scout, P.A. and Grip.   He has also worked as a Professional Clinical Hypnotherapist, which has given him a particular insight into human nature, which is evident in his writings.  Mr. Read received an Honorable Discharge from the United Stated Air Force in 1974 for his service during the Vietnam War.
   Currently, he is an active partner at Dream River Films, LLC, a development/production for Independent Films, located in Dallas, Texas.
   Memberships include TAFTP and Dallas Screenwriters Association.

   Originally a novelist, Mr. Read has written numerous short stories, short scripts, and screenplays.  He has also worked with other novelist  in developing adaptation scripts for the motion picture industry and mini-series for network and the cable television industry.
